Nowadays if you try to watch the flooring in most markets and commercial plaza, you will find that nearly all shops are decorated by plastic flooring with chevron and herringbone parquet. Why they choose these as their flooring installing option? The main reason is that both of these two parquets will give you and customers an excellent aesthetic and geometric feeling. So which is the best option? The answer is not absolute. Let me show you their differences firstly.
It is obviously that their parquets are unique due to the angle degree between two pieces of flooring. It is always 90° for herringbone while there are many angle degree choices for chevron such as 45° or 60°. From the images you will get the different sense of lines.
For herringbone flooring, all flooring will be divided into two types based on locking system, and we call them as A type and B type. They have symmetrical locking groove, and thus they will pass slotting machines with reversed carving knives. For chevron most procedures are similar, but there will be an extra step that the flooring will be cut and removed some parts to make it as parallelogram shape. Thus chevron flooring will have extra producing and materials cost and become more expensive than herringbone flooring.
Actually both of them installation progress are very complex and difficult for most customers. They need many tools and referred objects to make sure pushing installation without any problem, However, chevron will be more hard than herringbone to install. If there is some size deviation during chevron installation, in order to adjust its position, you will have troubles in using hammer to tap on it. Whereas, for herringbone, it will be easier to operate. Next i will show you detailed installing methods for these two flooring parquets.
