Nowadays, with the widespread use of plastic flooring in many countries and many areas, some classical representative of this kind of flooring such as SPC flooring has got more and more requirement in the market. Many wholesaler, distributor and retailer start to purchase these flooring. Especially for wholesaler, they will store much stock in order to satisfied next level customers. Thus, how to store these flooring become a big challenge. Here i will list some factors that will affect the quality of SPC flooring when storing.
SPC flooring is mainly made of PVC resin and limestone powder. It is because PVC is one kind of thermoplastic, it will be influenced a lot by temperature variation. PVC will expand when the temperature increase and reach a certain level. While PVC will shrink when the temperature decrease and reach a certain level. Thus if SPC flooring is stored in a very hot or cold warehouse, its physical characteristics will be damaged.
If the SPC flooring is laid in the corner with high humidity, there will be too much moisture. This will affect the plate and make it decompose. Then the SPC flooring will be soaked in moisture for too long time and finally it will easily deform and crack.
Stacking too high and too heavy SPC flooring will damage the bottom flooring. Commonly SPC flooring consists more than half limestone powder. It is stiff enough but sometimes will be brittle. When loading too heavy things on its overlay, it will be damaged and start to deform that can not recover.
After analyzing the influencing points, there are several methods to protect SPC flooring from damage when storing in warehouse.
①Avoid laying SPC flooring in too cold or too hot warehouse. Remember to take some ways to control the warehouse average temperature such as using air conditioner. Keep it at a balanced data will protect SPC flooring from physical deformation.
②Avoid laying SPC flooring in too humid place such as corner or under the ceiling that has a hole. Especially in rainy days in summer, the air will contain much moisture. Thus regular dehumidification is necessary.
③Avoid stacking too heavy goods on SPC flooring in order to prevent it from being damaged by too large static pressure.

Environment: climate oven
Conditions: 80℃, 6 hours
Specimen: thickness 4.5mm ESPC
Steps:
1_Put the specimen into constant temperature environment, 24~25℃ for 24h
2_Cut 22.9x22.9mm as the test specimen, record its initial size, thickness and curling.
3_Put it into climate oven, 80℃, 6h
4_Repeat the step_1 again
5_Record its final size, thickness and curling
After testing several specimens, we will get several initial data and final data. And after calculation, all results will be summarized in below data sheet.
From the sheet data, it is obviously that ESPC flooring is better than SPC flooring based on size variation and curling index. It should be noticed that ESPC curling is only 0.2cm while SPC has reached 1.03cm.
Why there is so large difference between them? It is because regular SPC flooring structure is like A+B (wear layer+SPC core), when the flooring is laid in extreme hot environment, these two different materials will expand in different extent. After that the flooring will bend to one side and cause curling. Whereas, ESPC structure is like A+B+A (LVT+SPC+LVT), which will provide a better balance to the entire substrate and avoid serious size variation.
In all, ESPC as one kind of new product invented by Protex Flooring, has better stability than traditional SPC flooring.
