Here i will focus on introducing some different click locking systems from Valinge.
In 1993, Valinge was founded, and after 3 years, the first click locking system was invented, It is a mechanical click locking, which was used for laminate flooring. Then in 2001, the first generation locking system specially for plastic flooring such as LVT flooring, was invented and started to go into public sight. its name was ‘Valinge 2G’. It was described as angle-angle locking because its short side used the same locking method with long side.
In 2005, another new click locking system called ‘Valinge 5G’ was launched. It changed its short side from angle to fold down, which will make the flooring become very convenient for people to install. It has a plastic strip inside. When the flooring was push down the plastic strip will be pushed into the groove. Then when the flooring male groove fit the female groove, the plastic strip will pop out and finally ensure the flooring integrate with each other perfectly.
However, Valinge 5G had faced a problem that its price was much expensive than original Valinge 2G due to the insert strip. Thus another upgraded type, maybe should be said as improved type, which called ‘Valinge 5Gi’, was invented after few years. It removed its insert strip in order to reduce the cost. And a hammer is required to knock on it when assembling it to ensure it fit the groove well.
In order to deal with the water on the flooring in daily life, Valinge started to develop and research for many years. Fortunately, another new type of click locking system, which was called ‘Valinge 5G Dry’, was successfully invented and launched in 2020. Its optimal profile for short side’s and long side’s overlay will highly enhance water resistant performance.
It is because Valinge 5G is very popular with its easy installation and excellent durability, Valinge tried to develop it for wall panels as well. And finally it was invented and launched at the same time with Valinge 5G Dry. It was called ‘Valinge 5G Climb’ due to its usage for wall panels. Actually it is same with Valinge 5G, and it has an extra clip. Thus you can use Valinge 5G Climb for flooring of course, or you can use it for wall panels as well by using clips.
Based on versatile requirement from markets all around the world, many people prefer to choose tiles instead of planks. Therefore, Valinge started to develop a brand-new click locking system specially for tiles. Finally it was invented successfully in 2022, which was called ‘Valinge 5G Cross’.
As the widespread use of Valing 5G, Valinge paid more attention to develop further function. Except original Valinge 5G easily installing and durable, another new type of click locking system called ‘Valinge 5G NXT’ was invented in 2023. It also helps customers to replace, remove or reinstall very fast and easily. By using this click locking system, you do not need to remove an entire row when you want to remove some pieces of them, which can not only help reduce about 40% installing time but also help reduce the risk of flooring damage.
